Profile
My research focuses on trauma and emergency care, with particular emphasis on prehospital care, critically ill patients, military medicine, and healthcare in armed conflicts.
My work spans epidemiological studies of trauma and prehospital care to research on critically ill patients, military medicine, and healthcare in disaster and conflict settings. A particular focus is health systems’ ability to identify, prioritise, and treat severely injured patients, and on how organisation, decision-making, and medical interventions affect patient outcomes. Through national and international collaborations, I study both everyday acute conditions and how care functions under extraordinary circumstances, with the aim of strengthening medical preparedness and improving survival and recovery after injury and illness.
