Long-term follow up of trauma patients in an LMIC setting

Evaluation of health-related quality of life of trauma patients after being discharged from university hospital in Kenya.

Documented follow-up of trauma patients in is not often performed in resource scarce settings. The aim of the project is to describe quality of life of the trauma patient six to twelve months after being discharged from a university hospital in Kenya. The goal is to identify quality of life of the trauma patient in a country with limited resources, and with the aid of this knowledge be able to improve trauma care. Patients are identified in a current trauma register and data collection is performed over the telephone and with the aid of the EQ-5D tool.
