Who we are

The Center for Disaster Medicine and Traumatology (KMC) in Linköping, Sweden, is an interdisciplinary research environment spanning two organisations: Linköping University and Region Östergötland (county council).

Structure

Academically, KMC is based at the Division of Surgery, Orthopedics and Oncology (KOO) within the Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences at Linköping University. In parallel, KMC operates as an independent centre within the county council.

Both entities are co-located and well integrated to enable synergies between education, research, and medical emergency incident management.

People & expertise

KMC has a multidisciplinary staff of surgeons, anaesthesiologists, nurses, counsellors, and researchers with backgrounds from the medical, arts & sciences (philosophical), and engineering faculties.
